A simple question for Kerr County: which column describes the country you want to leave your children?

Graphic circulated as “Why I’m Voting Republican,” credited to The Federalist Papers.
Every election season, the noise gets louder. Consultants complicate what is simple. Media outlets treat two very different governing philosophies as if they were the same thing with different logos. They are not.
The chart above does what a two-hour debate often will not. It puts the real choice on one board and asks a question every Kerr County family can answer at the kitchen table:
Which one matters most to you?
This Is Not Complicated
The Kerr County Republican Party exists to elect principled, conservative Republican candidates and to advance Republican values at the local, state, and national levels. Those values are not slogans invented for a mailer. They are the same convictions that built this county and this country:
- Life. A child is not a political inconvenience. Republicans stand for letting babies live. That is not “culture war.” It is the first duty of a just people.
- Order. Supporting the men and women who wear the badge is not optional in a county that still believes neighbors should be able to sleep with their doors locked and their children safe.
- The Second Amendment. The right to keep and bear arms is not a hobby. It is a constitutional guarantee and a practical necessity for free people.
- A real border. Open borders and illegal immigration are not compassion. Legal immigration under the rule of law is. Texas has lived the difference.
- Limited government. Higher taxes and bigger government do not produce stronger families. They produce more bureaucracy and less freedom. Tax relief and small government leave room for work, church, and home.
- Freedom. Lockdowns, political correctness, and socialist experiments are not progress. An open economy, capitalism, and constitutional liberty are how America works best.
God, Family, Country – Here at Home
Look at the couple in the picture. They are not a focus group. They look like the people who sit in our churches, work our ranches and small businesses, raise children in Kerrville, Ingram, Center Point, and Hunt, and still believe a plaque that reads God – Family – Country is not a relic.
That is the Kerr County Republican Party’s philosophy in plain language. We believe in strong families. We believe government should not try to be all things to all people. We believe freedom is God-given, affirmed by our Founding Fathers, and protected by the Constitution. We believe personal responsibility still matters.
Those convictions show up locally every month – in Commissioners Court, at City Council, in school board meetings, and in the tax rate and spending debates that decide whether working families keep more of what they earn. National slogans become local bills. If you want small government in Washington, you have to demand it on Main Street, too.
Elections Have Consequences
The two columns on that board are not “both sides doing their best.” They are competing visions of the American future. One treats the Constitution as a living suggestion. The other treats it as the supreme law that binds the government, not the citizen.
You do not have to love every Republican on every ballot. You do have to decide which column you are willing to live under – and which column you are willing to hand to your children. Principles without a vote are a speech. A vote without principles is a coin toss.
America works best when we protect the unborn, back the police, defend the right to keep and bear arms, control the border, cut taxes, shrink government, keep the economy open, and refuse to trade constitutional freedom for the latest fashionable speech code.
What You Can Do in Kerr County
If that chart describes why you vote the way you vote, do not keep it to yourself.
- Share the graphic. Send it to a neighbor who still thinks the two parties are “basically the same.”
- Show up. Watch Commissioners Court (2nd and 4th Mondays) and Kerrville City Council (2nd and 4th Tuesdays). Liberty is defended in the room, not only online.
- Help your precinct chair. The Kerr County Republican Party is an all-volunteer organization. Block walking, phone calls, and headquarters shifts still win elections.
- Come to the next gathering. The Kerr County Republican Party Golf Tournament – Monday, October 26, 2026, The Club at Comanche Trace.
- Vote – and take someone with you. Confirm your registration, know your precinct, and treat Election Day as a civic duty, not an afterthought.
Republican Headquarters is at 1226 Bandera Highway, Kerrville, open weekdays. Call (830) 792-5151, visit us here at kerrcountygop.com, or reach your precinct chair and tell them you can help.
The board is already written. The only question left is the one at the bottom of the picture: which one matters most to you?
