Kerr County voters will elect federal, state, and county officers on Tuesday, November 3, 2026. The Elections Office has posted the calendar, early-voting hours, and Election Day precinct locations. Use this page to make a plan.
Texas does not mail a ballot to every voter. Any registered voter may vote early in person. A ballot by mail is only for voters who meet a reason in state law.

1. Register First — October 5
You must be registered in Kerr County at least 30 days before Election Day. For November 3, that deadline is Monday, October 5 at 5:00 p.m. Same deadline if you moved and need the new address on the roll.
Texas does not finish a new registration online. You may fill the form on a computer, then print, sign, and mail it, or take it in. Mail should be postmarked by October 5. If you are close to the deadline, walk it into the voter registrar.

You do not need the registration card in your hand. You do need an accepted photo ID.

3. Election Day — Tuesday, November 3
Polls open 7:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. On Election Day you vote at your assigned precinct, not at any site in the county. If you are in line at 7:00 p.m., stay in line.
Do not assume the May runoff map still applies. Several precincts have new buildings. Early voting at the Youth Event Center does not make that your Election Day location.
Precinct 215 votes at Hosanna Lutheran Church, 134 Camp Meeting Road — not the Event Center.

4. Ballot by Mail (if you qualify)
Call it what the statute calls it: early voting by mail. It is limited. You may apply only if you:
- Will be 65 or older on Election Day
- Have a disability — a sickness or physical condition that prevents you from appearing at the polling place on Election Day without a likelihood of needing personal assistance or injuring your health
- Expect to be out of Kerr County on Election Day and during early-voting hours (the ballot must be mailed to an address outside the county)
- Expect to give birth within three weeks before or after Election Day
- Are confined in jail but otherwise eligible
- Are civilly committed under Chapter 841, Health and Safety Code
- Are in the Attorney General Address Confidentiality Program
No ride, a work shift, or a mild illness that does not keep you from the polls is not a mail-ballot reason. Voters 65 or older, or who qualify on disability, may file an annual application. Everyone else applies election by election.
The application must be in the Early Voting Clerk’s office by Friday, October 23. A postmark is not enough. If you fax or email a copy, the original still has to arrive within four business days.

Track the ballot: Ballot by Mail Tracker. Military and overseas voters use FVAP.gov and the FPCA Ballot Tracker.
You may hand-deliver your own marked mail ballot to the clerk’s office while the polls are open on Election Day. Bring accepted photo ID. If you become sick or disabled on or after Thursday, October 22, call Elections at 830-792-2251 about an emergency ballot.
Photo ID
Texas requires accepted photo identification for in-person voting and for hand-delivery of a mail ballot.
- Texas driver license issued by DPS
- Texas Election Identification Certificate issued by DPS
- Texas personal identification card issued by DPS
- Texas handgun license issued by DPS
- United States military identification card with photograph
- United States citizenship certificate with photograph
- United States passport book or card
If you are 18–69, the ID may be expired up to four years. If you are 70 or older, it may be expired for any length of time if it is otherwise valid. A citizenship certificate does not expire. A student ID is not accepted.
No accepted photo ID? You may sign a Reasonable Impediment Declaration and present a supporting document (voter registration certificate, current utility bill, bank statement, government check, paycheck, or certified birth record). Rules: VoteTexas.gov.
Do Not Fall for a Registration Scam
Kerr County Elections and the voter registrar will not text or email you asking for a driver-license number or Social Security number. A message that says you are “not registered” and then asks for those numbers is not the county. Do not reply. Do not click. Call 830-792-2242 or check VoteTexas.gov.
Who to Call

| Mail ballot, early voting, Election Day sites, sample ballot | Elections / County Clerk, Suite 122 · 830-792-2251 |
| Military or overseas ballot | FVAP.gov plus Kerr Early Voting Clerk · 830-792-2251 |
Make a Plan
- Confirm you are registered by October 5.
- If you qualify for a mail ballot, get the application into Suite 122 by October 23 — then track the return.
- If you vote in person, pick an early-voting day now. The second week (October 26–30) runs 7:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m.
- Look up your Election Day precinct in the table above. Do not drive to last spring’s runoff site out of habit.
- Watch the Kerr County Elections page for the sample ballot.
Republicans who sit out early voting and then hit a long line on November 3 are how close local races get sloppy. Make the plan this week.
