Each candidate vetted by the Kerr County Republican Party Candidates Committee was asked to submit a completed Republican Party Platform Review. Number 6 on that review stated the principle of “Self-sufficient families, founded on the traditional marriage of a natural man and a natural woman.” Christine Martinez checked “Agree”. The Committee may have been remiss in not asking if she had ever violated that principle, but Ms Martinez has since stated clearly that if elected to the position of JP Precinct 4, she would not perform marriages. It’s the decision of the Candidates Committee that she remain Certified on the Voter Guide.
