The Kerr County Republican Party (KCRP) has formally adopted a resolution calling for the immediate passage of the SAVE America Act by the United States Senate and its prompt signing into law by President Donald J. Trump.
The resolution, adopted unanimously on February 23, 2026, affirms the Party’s longstanding commitment to election integrity and the protection of the franchise for lawful United States citizens. The SAVE America Act would require documentary proof of U.S. citizenship when registering to vote in federal elections and strengthen voter roll verification processes.
The legislation would amend the National Voter Registration Act of 1993 to require documentary proof of citizenship such as a valid U.S. passport, REAL ID-compliant identification indicating citizenship, birth certificate, naturalization certificate, or military service records when registering to vote in federal elections. It also directs states to verify voter rolls using federal databases, including the Department of Homeland Security’s SAVE program.
The U.S. House of Representatives has already passed the SAVE America Act. The Kerr County Republican Party is now urging immediate Senate consideration and action.
The resolution specifically calls on:
- Senate Majority Leader John Thune to bring the bill to the Senate floor for a prompt vote.
- Senator John Cornyn to lead Texas’ voice in advocating for swift passage.
- Senator Ted Cruz to press for immediate Senate action and a recorded vote.
The Kerr County Republican Party also calls upon the Republican National Committee, the Republican Party of Texas, and Republican organizations nationwide to prioritize advocacy for the legislation as an essential election integrity measure.
In adopting this resolution, the Party reaffirmed its commitment to secure, fair, and transparent elections that uphold the one-person, one-vote principle and protect against vote dilution.
The resolution was adopted by the Kerr County Republican Party on February 23, 2026.
