The Kerr County Republican Party has officially released the Report of the Permanent Resolutions Committee from the 2026 County Convention, providing a comprehensive record of the resolutions adopted and forwarded to the Republican Party of Texas for consideration at the State Convention.
The report, adopted following the March 28, 2026 County Convention, represents the work of grassroots delegates across Kerr County and reflects a broad range of policy priorities rooted in constitutional governance, individual liberty, and local control.
The Permanent Resolutions Committee, comprised of Chair Terri Hall, Secretary Jaclyn Merki, Sergeant-at-Arms Richard Bohnert, Rachel Vickers, and Jacob Wellnitz, reviewed, organized, and advanced resolutions submitted from multiple precinct conventions throughout the county.
The final report is structured to clearly distinguish:
- New Platform Resolutions addressing emerging issues
- Existing Platform Resolutions reinforcing and refining current Republican Party of Texas positions
- Day-of-Convention Submissions considered by delegates
The adopted resolutions cover a wide range of critical issues, including:
- Election integrity, transparency, and cybersecurity of voting systems
- Protection of constitutional rights in digital environments, including opposition to biometric tracking and centralized digital ID systems
- Energy reliability, infrastructure security, and local control over large-scale developments such as BESS and data centers
- Border security, licensing integrity, and enforcement of rule of law
- Fiscal responsibility, including long-term property tax elimination
- Protection of private property rights and opposition to eminent domain abuse
Notably, the report places strong emphasis on emerging threats to liberty, including digital surveillance, artificial intelligence governance, and cybersecurity risks to critical infrastructure, reflecting the increasing importance of these issues to Texas voters.
This report reflects the strength of our grassroots process and the seriousness with which Kerr County delegates approach the future of our state. Our county continues to play an active role in shaping the direction of the Republican Party of Texas.
The Kerr County Republican Party encourages all citizens to review the full report and remain engaged as these resolutions move forward to the State Convention for consideration in the 2026 Republican Party of Texas Platform.
